People couldn’t get enough of the various pork dishes served for Sizzling Sunday from the Big Green Egg, what will they cook this time on these awesome outdoor ovens?
The Big Green Egg taxi visited Farndon Fields Farm Shop on Saturday 29th August 2015. We demonstrated the Big Green Eggs, cooking some of the farm shops lovely produce including beef short ribs which some customers described as ‘the best meat they had ever tasted’.
The Diss Midsummer Heritage Fayre is a mix of local businesses celebrating the towns history and a classic car show.
We took the Big Green Egg taxi along and cooked up a storm all day. As ever people loved both the taxi and the food served from it and the rain eventually cleared leaving a lovely afternoon.
Sizzling Sunday, a celebration of all things piggy, Â was park of the Eat Cambridge festival and hosted at Burwash Manor.
We popped along to help the Burwash Larder team cook up some pulled pork rolls, Pork Pibil, Pork Chili Verde and some good old sausages in buns, all cooked from their own rare breed pigs no less.
Lets just say demand outstripped supply and everything sold out way too quickly. We all had great fun though and learned a lot. Thanks to Helena and Paul for all of their help as well as the Burwash Larder team.
Big Green Egg launched at Wholefoods on Kensington High Street in May 2015.
To celebrate we took to the pavement outside their store and cooked food in front of the public. Vaughan, Marcus and myself cooked up so lovely food and then gave it away inside the store to some lucky people.
The was the first Gog Magog Big Green Egg chilli cook off between 4 locals all cooking chilli on the Big Green Egg. The contestants were:
- Jay from Guerrilla Kitchen
- Leo from Steak and Honour
- Ben from Capsicana
- Nic from Meat Smoke Fire
40 portions of chilli were served from each of the contestants and those lucky enough to have secured tickets got to try and vote on their favourite chilli. Jay was the outright winner taking away a Mini Big Green Egg to the delight of his wife.
