Big Green Egg Cooking Classes
To get the most of your Big Green Egg then why not attend a Big Green Egg cooking class. Whether it’s a class at your home or one of our group classes in Cambridge, either way they’re great fun and you will learn how to get so much more from your Egg, cooking in ways you probably hadn’t even thought of as well as covering all of the basics.
Individual classes
Why not treat yourself to a one-on-one Big Green Egg cooking class.
These can be tailored to your needs and run at your home using your Egg, ingredients from your favourite butchers, green grocers and fish mongers and there’s no need to travel.
We can bring an additional smaller Egg’s so we can try out lots of different methods during the day.
These classes are now outsourced to Julie who runs them as we used to.
Group Classes
Our favourite way to deliver a class, is as a group. Not only will you learn from us, but you’ll also learn from the other participants.
Our classes are normally for a maximum of 6 people. We spend the day cooking, eating and having fun while learning many different techniques.
We cook steaks, vegetables, roast chicken, sear racks of lamb, smoked chocolate brownies, tarte tatin, plank smoke some fish, have a steak cooking competition with 6 steaks… You’ll not be going home hungry.
In 2021 we have invested in a Renson Pergola with an electric roof that enables us to make the very best of the weather conditions.

I have been using my BGE for 5 years now with mixed results. Some bad cooks and some messed up or late cooks have put me off. The worst issue was the occasional acrid taste due to VOCs. I know others who have had the same problems and who rarely use their Egg or have sold it. I was not going to give in.
I've done lots of reading and watched numerous videos but seeing Nic in the flesh and his tips and tricks was amazing. I left with renewed confidence and cannot wait to get cooking again. Nic and Helena cover so much during the day including lighting and cleaning, getting the right temperature and how to up/down as needed, low 'n' slow, rotisserie, direct/indirect & dirty!
I cannot recommend the course(s) high enough - we will back for sure,.
The service and prices are also second to none. Already ordered some new kit!

Just a quick message to say thanks for a Fab day. I had a really great time, learnt loads, enjoyed some amazing food and spent the day with a great group of people. If I had to give the day marks out of 10, I’d give it 12!!! . I will be looking to book the next level as soon as possible.

Nic and Helena were fantastic hosts, and their Big Green Egg cooking experience takes you on a journey through the art of smoking mastery. The day takes place at their beautiful house and wonderful garden, where you get to learn from Nic’s incredible knowledge. From setting up the Egg to various cooking methods, including, my favourite, the intriguing “Dirty steak,” it’s no wonder I learned more in one day than years of fumbling around with my own Egg!
And who knew you could smoke a Brownie in an Egg? It was quite the adventure!
If you’re ever looking to expand your smoker skills further, Nic and Helena’s class is definitely worth it.
I learnt more from Nic and Helena in a day than those 3 years and it was great fun.

The stage was set with the iconic Big Green Egg, a symbol of unparalleled grilling prowess. Nic and Helena, our culinary guides for the day, greeted us with warm smiles and infectious enthusiasm.
The menu boasted an impressive lineup, featuring fresh lobster, succulent steaks, and delectable biscotti biscuits. But what truly set this experience apart was the emphasis on hands-on learning. Under Nic and Helena's expert guidance, we dove headfirst into the world of barbecue, wielding tongs and spatulas with newfound confidence.

We have an XL BGE and consider ourselves competent cooks on it, cooking all manner of steaks, but also curries, various breads, pizza, etc. But we don't know what we don't know, so booked this one day personal course at home with Julie.
Much better than we could have imagined! Julie produced a huge range of things to cook, including focaccia, tarte tartin, slow cooked beef short ribs, 2 dips (yummy!), steaks many ways, rack of lamb, top rump, salmon on a cedar plank, souvlaki, etc. Was really quite a journey!
And Julie was really helpful and flexible. As we discussed the day, she kept recommending new things to try, which we eagerly accepted. And then, after the day, she e-mailed us all the recipes plus some others that she thought we might like.
Julie even brought her own small egg to supplement our own XL so that we could have two cooking streams on the go at the same time.
Very happy - highly recommended - and will do again!
