Over time, the dome of your Egg can move very slightly, which means it isn’t aligning to the base. For some Egg users, this is a real bugbear. You can try to adjust the bands in the first instance, however, an upgrade to new bands will fix this.
The Big Green Egg replacement re-alignment system will mean your EGG dome sits squarely on the base every time you open and close the lid. It’s spring-loaded too, making the lid effortless to lift and gentle to shut. It’s made with a special coated alloy rather than stainless steel which is not only rust-proof, but most importantly doesn’t expand in intense heat.
