what is the LetzQ Spit?

The LetzQ Spit converts your kamado oven into a rotisserie-style grill.  The spit rotates while the food cooks allowing meat to self-baste and achieve a beautifully even cook.

how does the LetzQ Spit work?

You set up your kamado oven for an indirect cook.

No adjustment to your grill should be necessary.  You place the wedge onto the base of your kamado, with the LetzQ badge to the front of your oven.  You fix the motor on to the wedge on the outside of your kamado on the left-hand side.  The spit once loaded is placed into the wedge with the black handle to the right and the tip is inserted into the motor.  You turn on the motor and your cook should start spinning.  You then close the dome while you cook.  Remember if you’re looking it ain’t cooking!

If you want to save the cooking juice from the spit as your cook roasts, you can place a stainless steel grid in your kamado and then pop a tray on the surface to catch the juice.

We have found that when using the LetzQ Spit with the Big Green Egg, this highlights the requirement for some overdue routine maintenance ie adjusting the bands or replacing the gasket.  Guides can be found here on how to fix these issues.

Will the LetzQ Spit fit my kamado style BBQ?

The LetzQ has been designed to fit most standard-sized Kamado grills from the Big Green Egg and Kamado Joe range. These grills sizes are stated on the diameter of the cooking surface.

If you don’t see your grill here, please take a measurement of the internal diameterand give Nic a call on 07446 960303 to see if it will fit before ordering.

what is the maximum weight that the letzq spit can take?

The LetzQ Spit is powered by a 4-watt motor and is capable of rotating up to 15kg.

How close does the socket need to be located to the Kamado?

The motor requires an electrical socket within 1m of the left-hand side of the Big Green Egg or Kamado.

How do i ensure that whatever i'm cooking does not slip on the letzq spit?

There are two meat prongs, which are used to secure food to the spit.

How do I control the temperature of Kamado oven when using the LetzQ Rotisserie?

You do this in exactly the same way.  The temperature is controlled by opening and closing the top and bottom vents.  Tip:  always adjust both of them at the same time.  Be patient.  Don’t panic if the temperature gauge is 20 degrees either side of your desired temperature.  It really won’t matter.  Relax and let the kamado do its thing!

If you want to know, we have a guide on the setup for different cooking temperatures using the Big Green Egg with either the  rEGGulator or the daisy wheel.

Can I leave my LetzQ rotisserie outside?

We do not advise that you leave the spit or the motor outside.  We recommend that when not in use, they are stored inside an outside storage unit, garage or shed.

Can I use my Letzq Spit in the rain?

Yes, you can.  The motor is rated to to IPX4, which means it can be used in the rain as long as the plug is housed in an IPX4 certified socket.

Do you ship to the US or Canada?
