With the HORL® 3 Pro, Otmar and Timo Horl are realizing a very personal dream. With a high-precision internal planetary gear, a simple rolling motion generates a triple grinding movement. Thus, the HORL® 3 Pro grinds at triple speed with solid stainless steel and aluminium components that provide a particularly noble appearance. The locking system ensures easy exchange of bringing discs that twist off.

The HORL® adjustable angle support offers a choice of six grinding angles with three latching positions.

PLANETARY GEAR

More sharpness in no time

The HORL®3 Pro is equipped with a planetary gear inside the barrel. The gearing ratio of 1:3 ensures results are achieved three times faster than with the HORL®.

QUICK LOCK

With the new Quick Lock system, changing grinding discs is even easier, simply twist off and exchange the discs for complete flexibility. You can achieve higher levels of sharpness using the accessories.

Grinding Disc

The industrial diamonds we use are suitable for efficiently sharpening all knife steels of any degree of hardness without water. When used properly, the HORL® Diamond Standard never needs to be replaced. The grain size of 46 μm grinds efficiently and precisely. A high-quality sharpening result is achieved in just a short time.

Ceramic
Honing Disc

After processing with the HORL® Diamond Standard, the ceramic honing disc significantly refines the grinding result. Only a few movements are needed for this. The result is a smooth, clean and filigranely sharpened knife edge.

Grinding

Industrial diamonds are considered one of the most durable and effective abrasives on the market. The monocrystalline diamonds are harder than any knife steel. By using a galvanic process, the diamonds in the HORL® Diamond Standard are fixed to approx. 55% in a nickel bed. After the first grinding processes, the initially rough surface will become finer and the HORL® Diamond Standard reaches its ideal grinding surface.

GRIP PAD

The HORL® Grip Pad ensures that the knife is securely fixed during sharpening. Using ultra strong magnets and a stable control pad, there is up to 70% more grip with the HORL®3. With improved grip, it’s even better for holding small blades so that they can be sharpened consistently and reproducibly at the desired height.
