Chilli Halloumi Sandwich

With Britsh Sandwich week underway, we wanted to expand our snack offering. Spice up a halloumi sandwich with sweet chilli and chilli oil, a delicious and fiery take on a what can be quite a bland cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 packet of halloumi cheese
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 4 slices of bread
  • a handful of rocket
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • handful of cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 tbsp sweet chilli sauce
  • 1 tsp chilli oil

    Method

    For the chilli sauce

    1. Mix the ingredients in a small bowl and set aside.

    For the Sandwich

    1. Slice up your halloumi into approx 8 pieces.
    2. Setup your Egg for a direct cook at 200°C.
    3. Preheat your pan.
    4. Add the oil to your pan and heat it up until it’s hot,
    5. Add your hallouimi cook for about 5 minutes until the halloumi turns golden on the underside.
    6. Flip the halloumi and cook for 5 minutes or until browned all over.  Once cooked remove from the pan.
    7. Take 4 pieces of bread, place the rocket on the bread.
    8. Load up with the avocado, halloumi and tomato.
    9. Drizzle over the chilli sauce.
